On your bike! A race against the clock on the Riviera’s connected mountain passes

Introduced as part of the 2022-2028 Bike Scheme (Plan Vélo), the Alpes-Maritimes Department has created the “Connected Mountain Pass (Cols Connectés) 06” project for bike challenge fans. A chance to experience a thrilling time trial ride among the Riviera’s mountain passes.

The Alpes Maritimes’ roads and the Mediterranean climate make the French Riviera a perfect place for biking. Also sought-after as a training ground for many pro athletes, the French Riviera is a wonderful playground thanks to its vantage points and pleasant environment.

To offer biking fans a challenge, the Alpes-Maritimes Department has introduced a 100% free of charge time trial knowns as the Connected Mountain Pass 06, to challenge cyclists among the Riviera’s mountain passes. In order to enhance the experience, special signage has been installed to make your ride simpler. The odds are in your favour to beat the clock and to appear in the permanent rankings of each mountain pass.

Your adventure will be immortalised in an automatic photo area triggered as you ride through, but also by a ride souvenir, available from the Connected Mountain Passes 06 website.

Experience a thrilling ride as you explore our department – it will be ‘like riding a bike’!
