NEW: THE NICE SAINT-AUGUSTIN-AIRPORT MULTIMODAL HUB
Nice Saint-Augustin station is moving on Thursday, 1 September 2022.
A truly multimodal hub will be created in order to make travel to Nice easier! With this new station, several modes of transport will be brought together in the same place. In the first half of 2023, the connections hub will offer full intermodality and will allow for the following connections: tram-air (direct access to the airport), tram-bus (urban and interurban buses), tram-train (TGV [Intercity trains] and TER [Local/regional trains]), tram-car (700-space park & ride and carpooling stations), and tram-bicycle (Vélo Bleu).
In addition to a stop on tram line 2 (West-East) that is already operational, it will comprise two new bus and railway stations, and will open onto a large public esplanade. Less than 500 m apart, the multimodal connections hub and the airport will be linked by a wide lane dedicated to pedestrians, bicycles and public transport. This will allow for making connections easier and, in particular, giving direct access to Nice Côte-d’Azur Airport (free tram between the station and the airport).
- 2023: commissioning of the first phase of the bus station and the forecourt building
- 2024: start of works on the Nice Airport TGV/TER railway station and the second phase of the bus station
- 2028: commissioning of Nice Airport Station.
