EXTRAORDINARY 2-MILLION-EURO RECOVERY PLAN
Following the announcements made by the French Government on 14 May 2020 further to the Interministerial Committee for Tourism, an extraordinary 2 million euro recovery plan was announced by the Côte d’Azur France Regional Tourism Committee to support the resumption of activities by the tourism professionals on the Côte d’Azur. Since the beginning of March, tourism professionals on the Côte d’Azur have come together to create a recovery plan in conjunction with the Côte d’Azur France RTC and the Alpes-Maritimes department, and to plan a time-flexible communication and advertising campaign for the French market in order to attract French customers who would prefer to remain in France this summer. This has once again resulted in a true public-private partnership, which has been strengthened to prepare a large-scale action plan with an overall budget of 2 Million euro, 25% of which will be provided from private funds.
MARKETPLACE AND CÔTE D’AZUR FRANCE PASS
To enjoy as many activities as possible during the holidays and keep control of your budget, the Côte d’Azur France RTC has launched two mechanisms to serve tourists on the Côte d’Azur: the new Marketplace and the Côte d’Azur France Pass. More than ever, the 2020 summer season will be the chance to make the most of the incredible playground offered by the Côte d’Azur, from the sea to the mountains. As of now, the Côte d’Azur France RTC is offering two solutions to benefit from leisure and cultural activities that are simple to use and economical, namely the Côte d’Azur France Marketplace on the one hand, and the Côte d’Azur France Pass on the other.
TOURISM – END OF LOCKDOWN PHASE 2
The announcements particularly awaited by tourism professionals, the measures framing the second phase for lifting the lockdown, are now known. On Thursday 28 May, the Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe, specified a relaxing of the rules for lifting the lockdown, that would take effect as of Tuesday 2 June. Tourism is one of the economic sectors hardest hit by this health crisis. The challenge is now to balance the need to take health protection measures with the sector’s economic and social recovery. This is what needs to be taken on board form the Government announcements!
