Ville Songe. Intervention in Situ de Flora Moscovici

Cultural, Exhibition in Nice
  • Ville Songe is an in situ intervention by Flora Moscovici, an abstract painting on the scale of the architecture of one of the MAMAC's terraces that comes to dialogue with the urban landscape that unfolds at 360°c on the museum's roof.

  • The artist has been working for several years on painting in situ. The raw material of walls, floors and ceilings is his field of intervention. The particularity of her work is that it is done directly on the site. The young artist's colourful paintings take over the 160 square metres of grey concrete walls, transforming the museum's roof terrace into a poetic space. "The painting I create for the Mamac's terraces will interact with the tired concrete, incorporating its traces into the pictoriality, revealing its relief, its pores and making the link between the museum building and the city.
This exhibition is an opportunity to take the rich measure of the meeting of a place with an imagination, a place that she reveals and revisits through her chromatic palette. "I will start with the cold colours of metal and green reflections of glass to progressively develop my palette with regard to the multiplicity of shades that can be observed in Nice. My painting will echo the spots of colour that can be seen from the terraces overlooking the city, but it will also be linked to parts that are not visible from these viewpoints, as well as to the very fantasy of the Mediterranean that has participated in the evolution of the city of Nice.
