In 2017, he won the 1st prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. In 2018, he received the Victoire de la Musique classique: «Instrumentalist Soloist of the Year». He is the guest of major orchestras (RTÉ Orchestra Dublin, Brussels Philharmonic, Ural Philharmonic, etc.), works with conductors Emmanuel Krivine, Tugan Sokhiev, Olivier Grangean, etc. His records have earned him two Golden Diapason and two Choc Classica of the year. He plays on a beautiful cello by Domenico Montagnana, owned by Xavier and Josephine Moreno.

The young Franco-American harpsichordist Justin Taylor studied piano and harpsichord at the Angers Conservatory, then at the CNSM in Paris. In 2015, he won the First Prize and the Audience Prize at the International Musica Antiqua Competition in Bruges. In 2017, he was nominated for the Victoires de la Musique and was awarded the Prix de la Révélation Musicale de l'Année by the Association des Critiques Professionnels. From London to Tokyo, via New York, Montreal, or Brussels, Justin Taylor performed with the leading orchestras of Europe (orchestras of Lille, Wallonia, Geneva, Duisburg). His discography is acclaimed by international critics: Gramophone Editor’s Choice, Classica magazine’s Shock of the Year.

The remark of the Artistic Director
Golden Fork of the Year 2017 for his recording with pianist Adam Laloum – hosted at Scène55 in 2022 – Victor Julien-Laferrière is part of the tradition of great virtuosos who fan the appetite of Mougins and his informed public. This concert with the young prodigy Justin Taylor will be a very strong moment in our musical program. And both, what complicity with the public! A treat!
