Science for All Conference : "Measuring time: how fast do we live?"

Cultural, Conference, Sciences in Tende
  • From the fraction of a second to the age of the universe, from astronomical time to atomic time, what time do we need? How to broadcast it? How to synchronise it?

  • Today, we have instruments capable of making measurements with incredible precision and a time lag of only about one second in 15 billion years, or one second in a time span equal to the age of the Universe! Sundial, hourglass, clepsydra, watch, atomic clock, telescope, laser fibre... what is the rhythm of our lives?
