Palais Lascaris

Museum, Arts and culture, Music, Municipal museum, Musée de France in Nice

  • An exceptional example of civil baroque architecture, the Palais Lascaris is a recognised Musée de France, devoted to the art and music of the 17th and 18th centuries.

  • Residence of the Lascaris-Vintimille family, this palace, a registered historic monument since 1946, was restored and turned into a museum. The museography is organised around the art and music of the 17th and 18th centuries: paintings, engravings, tapestries, furniture, objets d'art and musical instruments from the Antoine Gautier bequest (1904) and the recent deposit of the Fondation Gisèle Tissier-Grandpierre collection of the French Institute.
