Benoît PARAYRE has brilliant university and musical studies at the Marc Bloch University in Strasbourg where he obtained a Master's degree in Music and in 2000 the Agrégation of musical education and choral singing. He then joined the CNR of Strasbourg where he obtained the DEM specialising in organ. His teachers are Pierre Gerthoffert, André Stricker, Christophe Mantoux and Michel Chapuis, as well as Jean Boyer, Jan Willem Jansen and Jean-Pierre Leguay. Since 2002, he is titular organist of the J. Rinckenbach organ in the church of St-Etienne de Cernay (68.) From 2004 to 2019, Benoit performs in a trio with two trumpet players. For the Saint-Tropez concert, he will be with Jean-Jacques Darriet and Nicolas Scherlen.
Jean-Jacques DARRIET (trumpet)
Born in Colmar (France) in 1955, he studied at the Colmar Conservatory of Music where he worked with Albert ZEH. He then perfected his skills with well-known trumpeters André HENRY and Maurice ANDRE during master classes and concerts. From 1998 to 2017, he was 1st trumpet of the Symphonic orchestra of the Collégium Musicum of Mulhouse and was a member of the Philarmonic of Riehen (Switzerland) and of the Capella Sacra (France).
Nicolas SCHERLEN (trumpet)
Passionate about the trumpet since his youth, Nicolas SCHERLEN decided in August 2019 to devote himself to music after a professional career in the United Nations, mainly in Africa. Indeed, for several years he had followed the teachings of Alain FAUCHER, disciple of Robert PICHEREAU, and of Philippe LITZLER, soloist at the Tohnhalle of Zurich. After having performed in several renowned groups, he joined the trio formation with Jean-Jacques DARRIET and Benoît PARAYRE in 2020.
