Circus : Glob
-
The latest production from Les Foutoukours is just like it: completely mad because it's offbeat, subtle, silent and magical. Poetic burlesque in its purest form, magnified by the Scandinavian-style set that allows two strange, hairy, shaggy, gentle and ageless characters to appear.
They wait for life to pass them by and wonder what to do, like dreaming with their noses in the wind. Red noses, of course...
The waiting, the unknown, the meeting are at the heart of this clownish duo performed by Rémi Jacques and Jean-Félix Béranger, great story-makers. Inspired in part by the silent films of the 1920s, they have developed an unparalleled physical language and created an imaginative and enchanting set: luminescent white globes, a few trees with slender branches, and a mysteriously balanced acrobatic ladder.
It's an ideal setting for recounting situations and expressing feelings, especially as Glob is a tribute to slowness and simplicity. There's nothing thunderous or explosive here, it's all about suggestion, situational comedy, rhythmic staging, solo piano notes, little dance steps, feet in the air and head in the stars, red balls flying from one to another.
Nothing here is improvised, everything is rehearsed a thousand and one times to reach that degree of perfection that makes it all seem so easy! -

This clownish pair, performed by master storytellers Rémi Jacques and Jean-Félix Béranger, is centered on waiting, the unknown, and meeting. They build an attractive, inventive scene with glowing white globes, a few trees with delicate branches, and an enigmatically balanced acrobatic ladder. They draw inspiration from silent cinema of the 1920s.

Everything in this scene has been rehearsed a thousand times in order to get the level of excellence that makes it all look so simple. Nothing is improvised.
