This sanctuary with its vertiginous staircase (listed as a Historical Monument in 1937) overlooks the gorges of the Bévéra valley.. A place of pilgrimage, the chapel has been redesigned over the centuries. Its oldest elements date from the 12th century.

It has 2 apses of different age. The Romanesque chapel was not oriented and defended the access to the castle of La Menour . The chapel was rebuilt in the second half of the 17th century with the choir to the east. It was restored in 2019.
