72nd Anniversary of the Rampèu de Sant-Troupès

Easter Monday is an important date in Saint-Tropez. It is indeed the day on which the town captain is traditionally appointed. But it is also the occasion to see Provençal dresses and headdresses twirling around the Sainte-Anne chapel and the old port for the anniversary of the Rampéu, the most famous of the Tropezian associations for the maintenance of Provençal traditions. Famous and old, since the dashing association is well over sixty years old.

After the morning mass, a circle forms to welcome the famous dance of the stump, during which a participant is awarded the stump, a sought-after distinction. The group then moves to the town hall square and the harbour quays for the traditional aubades and folk dances.
