There are 30 hiking trails to be discovered starting from this “Sunshine village”. In strolling through the narrow streets, the time is read on the famous sundials by Cocteau, Goetz, Ben, Moya, etc.

The village extends over nearly 2,000 hectares, split between the old village, its various districts and its 3 hamlets. The old village, perched on its rocky outcrop, overlooks the Paillon Valley.

This medieval village was a mandatory stop on the Salt Road until the 19th century. Its motto, “sta viator”, or “stop traveller” is now more current than ever.

This typical medieval fortified village has a rich heritage. At 1500 m above sea level, the green, family-run and athletic Peïra-Cava resort offers numerous activities.

Several marvels await discovery between the architecture from the Middle Ages and the outdoor activities: hiking and (electric) mountain bike trails allow everyone to enjoy a protected setting.

The village, comprising 7 hamlets, takes its name from the old fortified medieval village that overlooks from its rocky outcrop, an eagle’s nest at the bottom of a mountain corrie, preserved for centuries.

The village is a backdrop of green and tranquillity. The Revel and Albera districts offer a magnificent panoramic view over the valley. Several trails allow for hiking and mountain biking.
