Calling all lovers of old rigs, dragons and other classic yachts – make a date to be in Cannes every year in September.
An incredible ballet of pontoons, moorings and tents animates the Port of Cannes during the three days that separate the Cannes Yachting Festival from the Royal Regattas in Cannes – the Panerai Trophy. Here, it is the boats that create a stir during this real nautical world championship. Over 5 days, the red carpet is rolled out to accommodate these traditional sailing boats – the “Lords of the Sea”.
HOW TO ATTEND THE RÉGATES ROYALES IN CANNES?
From the land or sea – whatever your point of view!
The first suggestion, which will cost you nothing, is to admire the boats on the Old Port in Cannes, sitting on the Midi beach and watching them go out to sea. The atmosphere on the quayside is extraordinary: between waiting for the signals, the race starting and boats returning, there is always something happening. Another option – some companies organize sea trips during the regattas, for example Trans Côte d’Azur. Watch the races as they happen for a reasonable price ranging from €22 to €39.
