Focus on les Etoiles de Mougins

Since 2006 outdoors in the heart of the medieval village of Mougins, June sees one of the major events open to the general public bring together leading chefs: “Les Etoiles de Mougins”. An international festival of gastronomy and culinary arts that allows tens of thousands of people to meet the greatest chefs in the world and share their recipes, secrets, and passion for food.

13 YEARS OF FESTIVALS WITH THE UNIQUE FLAVOUR OF THE CÔTE D’AZUR

In 2006, Paul Bocuse, Gaston Lenôtre, Alain Ducasse, Michel Guerard and Pierre Troisgros came to launch the first edition and pay tribute to Roger Vergé, the famous 5-star chef at the Moulin de Mougins and his legendary Cuisine du Soleil. Every year for the last 13 years, the biggest names in national and international gastronomy have sponsored it and have successively taken their turn at the cookers in the demonstration and tasting spaces…

Up to 25,000 people travel every year for these exceptional gastronomic weekends.

Christian Willer, Marc Veyrat, Émile Jung, Anne-Sophie Pic, Éric Fréchon, Frédéric Anton, Gérald Passédat, Christelle Brua, Philippe Conticini, Thierry Marx, Daniel Boulud, and in June 2018, Philippe Etchebest have been there! Hundreds of chefs, creators of taste and emotion have faithfully contributed to this gastronomy event.

AN EXPLOSION OF ENTERTAINMENT

A great festival weekend, a total gastronomic immersion, where the entire profession comes to relax.

During the Etoiles de Mougins, you can participate in cooking workshops and classes, for adults and children, exhibitions and conferences full of unusual encounters, farmers’ markets, TV shows, and demonstrations by World Champions in their specialty, Stephan Perrote (jam), Jerôme de Oliveira (bakery), Victor Delpierre (cocktails and more. Public breakfasts, brunches for chefs, tastings in the village restaurants, snacks for connoisseurs, themed evenings, all listed in the “Journal des Etoiles de Mougins”.

Competitions are also a highlight at the Etoiles de Mougins. There are 5:

  • The Roger Vergé international competition for the best young chef.
  • The international young pastry chef competition, open to all qualified professional cooks
  • The amateur competition for amateur chefs.
  • The best young sommelier competition for front of house students and professionals.
  • Culinary arts competition in partnership with the Bocuse Foundation.
