Christmas in Cannes !

As every year, the neighbourhoods of Cannes come alive to the rhythm of this great traditional festival all about joy and sharing. Check out a whole programme of activities to celebrate Christmas for all preferences and ages.

christmas VILLAGE

ALLÉES DE LA LIBERTÉ AND COURS FÉLIX FAURE

Sat. 2 Dec. 2023 to Sun. 7 Jan. 2024

From 11.00am to 9.00pm (Fri. and Sat. until 10.00pm)

The traditional Christmas village with its cabins and new light displays, activities and ice rink with, for the first time, a middle school ice hockey exhibition match.

Craft cabins

From Sat. 2 Dec. 2023 to Sun. 7 Jan. 2024

An inviting craft space made up of 51 cabins selling decorative objects, gadgets, jewellery and food products. A gourmet corner has been set up so the public can eat on site. The village also hosts Santa’s chalet from 10.30am to 1.00pm and 2.30pm to 6.30pm on Saturday 9, 16 and 23 as well as Sunday 10, 17 and 24 December 2023.

On the programme: shows, activities, walkabouts, workshops making Christmas decorations, greeting cards, etc.

THE FUNFAIR

ESPLANADE PANTIERO

The funfair offers everyone plenty of laughter, thrills and excitement, with no less than 59 attractions: ghost train, children’s ride, merry-go-round, pirate ship, stunt games, duck fishing and food stands…

PARADES and CONCERTS

COURS FÉLIX FAURE, ALLÉES DE LA LIBERTÉ, RUE D’ANTIBES, RUE MEYNADIER

Saturday 23 December 2023 from 5.30pm

Departing from Cours Félix Faure, then Allées de la Liberté, Rue d’Antibes and back via Rue Meynadier.

Light parade with Father Christmas in traditional costume accompanied by his band of elves made up of artists, stilt walkers, musicians and inflatable horses and snowflakes with traditional Christmas songs and jazz music.

From 2.00pm to 6.00pm: weekends in December and every day from 18 to 31 December

Sound system on Rue Meynadier (music and Christmas carols)

ILLUMINATIONS

This year, you’ll find Christmas lights across the city on the theme of an authentic, traditional Christmas with golden tones, pine green, touches of white … and low energy consumption.

  • The traditional giant illuminated 32m high Christmas tree, located on the forecourt in front of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, with its scents of pine needles and resin, will be lit up from 16 December.
  • 18 illuminated Christmas trees of different heights, installed throughout the town, including two in La Bocca.
  • Projections of images of moving stars and snowflakes decorate the streets of the town centre.
  • Colourful projections by luminographer Gaspare di Caro on the facades of numerous buildings such as the Tour de la Castre and Notre-Dame d’Espérance church, the Sainte-Marguerite, Notre-Dame de Bon Voyage and Notre-Dame des Pins churches, and even La Malmaison, the Alexandre III Theatre…
  • Transparent inflatable balls containing a staging of automatons and fixed decorations on the magic of Christmas placed around the Lamy, Taras Chevtchenko and Roubaud squares.
  • NEW: giant bubble 8m in diameter set up at the bandstand on Allées de la Liberté with a backdrop made up of a golden carriage with 14 automatons, Christmas trees and other soft toys and accessories.
  • NEW: 13 light decorations on the lamp posts of Rue des États-Unis
